Adapted Physical Education
I am an Adaptive Physical Education teacher, which means I adapt PE activities and lessons for a student population with multiple and severe disabilities. Motivation here (as with all students) is critical and music has been invaluable in
keeping children interested and engaged. A lot of the songs I have and will write are prompt songs that both motivate students and incorporate goals of the physical education curriculum, such as exercising different muscle groups.
Not all the songs involve Physical Education. I work in a school located in the building of a Pediatric residence where the children are in need of constant care, and Infection Control is of paramount importance. "You Gotta Wash Your Hands" is a fun song that also addresses when to wash your hands to keep residents, patients, and workers in the best of health.
